Hosting
termfox.app is hosted on Laravel Cloud (Laravel Holdings Inc., USA) and delivered through Cloudflare's network (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). Laravel Cloud runs on Amazon Web Services. To deliver a page, these providers process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request, and may keep it in server logs for operation and security. Laravel Holdings Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Their privacy policies: Laravel, Cloudflare, AWS.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies. If Cloudflare has to check that a visitor is human, for example during an attack, it may set a strictly necessary security cookie.
When you email us, for example with feedback, we receive your email address and whatever you write or attach. We use it only to answer you and improve Termfox, and delete it when it's no longer needed or when you ask us to.
The Termfox app
What stays on your device
Everything you enter in Termfox is stored on the device. Nothing is copied to us.
| Data | Where it's kept |
|---|---|
| Hosts and groups | App storage, encrypted |
| Passwords | iOS Keychain |
| Secure Enclave keys | Secure Enclave; they can't be exported |
| Imported keys | iOS Keychain |
| Snippets and settings | App storage, encrypted |
iCloud sync
iCloud sync is off until you turn it on. When it's on, your data is stored encrypted in your own iCloud account, so it can reach your other devices. We have no access to it. Secure Enclave keys never leave the device.
Connections to your servers
When you connect, Termfox talks directly to the server you entered, over SSH. That traffic is between you and your server and never passes through us. The first time you connect, Termfox shows the server's key fingerprint, for example SHA256:k3Lw9TqZ…, so you can check it.
Crash reports
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports. You can turn this off at Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. See Apple's privacy policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
